The portability features make the Inspector Raman ideal for testing raw materials in receiving areas. The Inspector Raman weighs less than 5 lbs and communicates using Bluetooth technology, which makes it easy to move this analyzer throughout the plant. The Inspector Raman tests materials through common plastic and glass packaging materials.  Raman is information rich, and it is ideal for material identity testing. The Inspector Raman utilizes a 785 nm excitation laser that eliminates or reduces background fluorescence from raw materials. Further, the majority of pharmaceutical excipients are white and have no fluorescence background interference.

Method development requires acquiring and storing a reference standard spectrum which is stored in the DeltaNu library software. Unknown spectra obtained during routine testing are compared and scaled to the stored sample spectra. A Hit Quality Index is assigned to the matched spectrum.
